JOURNEY BY ELEVATOR

The play in 3 acts tells the story of Hercules' last task, his journey to Hell, accompanied by Hermes, to bring to Euristheus (his enemy, in whose service he has ended up), Cerberus, this terrifying monster, guardian of the gates of Hell.  After new trials and tribulations, Hercules ends up becoming a god, like the gods of Olympus.

Grigorescu-Negropontes, son of General Eremia Grigorescu and Elena Negropontes, descendant of a family of bankers. The book includes a long interview with Alexandru Ciorănescu, professor of comparative literature and author of over 300 books, at Bahamar in 1999, and four additional interviews taken with him at Radio Free Europe for the show "Controversies-Confluences East-West", a chapter on the inauguration of the CIORĂNESCU Memorial House in Moroieni, and an extract from an article published by Luminița Marcu in "Observator cultural" in November 2009, "Ten Years After the Death of Alexandru Ciorănescu".

Play in five acts, with a presentation consisting of excerpts from a correspondence with director Silviu Purcărete. "The play exploits the contamination of two mythical motifs - the Faustian myth and the myth of the Manolian sacrifice - against the historical background of Vlad Țepeș's time". "The dramatic construction makes ingenious use of these coincidences of motifs assembled in an original vision", writes Titu Popescu, who considers that the play "is, in all, a success, one of our rare dramaturgical values since the '90s".

CORRESPONDENCE

THE CORRESPONDENCE between Alexandru Ciorănescu-George Ciorănescu 1946-1964". Letters from the George Ciorănescu archive. Edited and foreword by Crisula Ștefănescu. Bibliotheca Publishing House, Targoviste, 2011. The volume contains 435 letters, in which the two brothers keep up to date with the events in exile, with their literary activity, but especially with their large family, a large part of which remained in the country. A generous source of information, the letters offer a real lesson in life: how to live with dignity, how to be and remain a man of character.

THE ROMANIAN EXILE

Documents from the archive of the Carol I Royal University Foundation". Romanian Cultural Institute, 2007. The work is based on documents, as many as could be recovered, belonging to the Royal University Foundation Carol I, an institution re-established in Paris, unanimously recognized and appreciated in the world of Romanian exile. The work also includes photographic documentation, which reveals some aspects of the Foundation's activity.

ABSURDE CONFESSIONS

The volume contains the notes of the writer and politician George Ciorănescu during several months in the summer and autumn of 1952, discovered in a notebook after the publication of "Diary Pages" in 2003. They are arranged in the form of chapters of a mini-novel, an expression of George Ciorănescu's experiences of exile and all that it entails.
